Water Conservation:  Conservation Garden

Created out of concern for Southern California's water future, CVWD's water conservation garden, was designed to encourage public acceptance, desire for, and use of water-efficient landscapes. It is located at the corner of Santa Ynez Avenue and Via Real in Carpinteria, California.  Visitors to the garden can, via a self-guided tour, see 120 species of plants in a natural setting and the irrigation systems that contribute to water efficiency. By following the techniques that are demonstrated here, consumers can reduce landscape water use 25 to 50 percent, save maintenance time and dollars on water bills and have beautiful, lush landscapes well suited to the Southern California climate.
